Making the Most of Your Gym Membership

It never ceases to amaze me why some people fly into the gym, pound away on the treadmills for a pre-set time, constantly looking at their watches, and then disappear. We all have pressures, commitments and other things to do than spend hours in the gym, but for me it feels as if these constantly rushing people don’t actually make full use of the facilities on offer, and they don’t know what they’re missing!

It’s not as if you have to pay any more if you’re a member, as most of the alternative exercise classes and well-being facilities, sauna etc. are included in the membership fees. Maybe it’s me who has too much time to spare, or maybe it’s because I’m the type of person who likes to think they’re getting their monies worth!

Gym MembershipIt’s not as if you are hogging the exercise machines, as there’s always something available even at the busiest of times. Don’t get me wrong I’m not like this all of the time, if fact I was horrified during my last holiday, I know it was ‘all inclusive’ but do people really need to eat as if the food’s going to suddenly disappear? Maybe it’s my age! – I believe in getting value for money and that’s why I chose a gym which has everything under one roof so to speak.

My gym offers so many different exercises which you can do alone or join in with a group, whatever takes your fancy and suits your preferred style of keeping fit. If I want to I can omit the exercising and relax in the sauna, nobody minds or makes comments (that I’m aware of!).

Many of us lead hectic lifestyles and we need a little ‘me’ time and I can’t think of a better way of de-stressing than venting my pent-up frustrations on the treadmills, afterwards, when I’m calmer I then chill for a while. The great thing is that this is not some pipe-dream, it’s reality, and what’s even better it’s all included within my gym membership fees.

As times are financially tough there are many gyms who allow you to pay for your membership monthly, or quarterly so that to helps spread the cost; furthermore if you haven’t been to a gym before you can download a free gym pass and ‘try before you buy’. The good people at my gym also have different membership plans which are ideal for people whose work takes them around the country. You simply join the nearest gym to where you live and then depending on which plan you opt for can use your membership in their numerous other gyms up and down the country.

I like this individual approach, it makes the whole experience less stifled and for people like me who want value for money without any hassle, it also makes logical and financial sense to choose this type of gym membership plan. It’s a great way of making the most of your gym and its facilities.
